Application Form

Applications are open for a half-day workshop on "Reforming Criminal Law and Policy Through Legal Scholarship," led by Guest of the IIAS, Professor Carol Steiker.

Workshop participants will read Professor Steiker’s article, “Promoting Criminal Justice Reform Through Legal Scholarship: Toward a Taxonomy”. With Professor Steiker, they will discuss the promises and pitfalls of attempting to promote law reform in the real world through scholarship born in the ivory tower of legal academia.  Can legal scholars be effective agents for legal change while also meeting the legal academy’s standards of scholarly excellence? Students should come prepared to briefly (approximately 10 minutes) present their own works-in-progress or ideas for future projects that seek to achieve these twin goals. The workshop is open to masters and PhD students.

The workshop will be held on Monday, 8 May 2023, at the IIAS, located in the Feldman Building of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Givat Ram campus.

Application deadline: Sunday, May 7th, 2023
