The conference will gather together professors, students and teachers of Yiddish language, literature and culture from all over the world, to deliberate and lecture about the state of Yiddish in the last 100 years. The conference will raise questions such as: What happened to Yiddish and its culture in the 20th century; What remained of Yiddish and its culture after the Holocaust and the establishment of the State of Israel, and how do the language and culture exist today in Israel and abroad; How is it possible to strengthen and support what exists today for future research and teaching of Yiddish and its culture, for the benefit of Jewish studies in general?
