Evolutionary biology is perhaps unique among scientific fiends in the peerless importance of a single forefather and foundational manuscript: Charles Darwin's "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection" stands virtually alone as the formative text of the field. To celebrate Darwin's bicentennial and the 150th anniversary of the publication of "The Origin", we will bring together researchers from diverse biological disciplines, such as computational and systems biology, evolution and development, population genetics and molecular evolution, ecology, and behaviour to explore the myriad roles of evolutionary thinking and highlight the central evolutionary questions in contemporary biology.
