This will be the first meeting of members from two organizations; the European (European Network of Teratogen Information Services – ENTIS) and the North American (Organization of Teratogen Information Specialists – OTIS). These organizations offer teratological counselling to pregnant women and medical professions, and to the risk of harm to the developing embryo and foetus following maternal exposure to possible teratogenic agents, i.e. drugs, chemicals, high doses of irradiation or maternal diseases during pregnancy.

There will be four scientific symposia, free communications and three business meetings of ENTIS and OTIS council members to discuss scientific collaboration and future meetings. The symposia are as follows:

  • The Role of Genetics and Epigenetics in Clinical Teratology
  • The Placenta in Clinical Teratology: Mechanisms of Drugs Transfer; the Effects of Placental Insufficiency on the Foetus
  • Challenges in Clinical Teratology
