The conference aims to document the still varieties of endangered Neo-Aramaic, which will become extinct in a generation or two. A rich array of topics relating to Neo-Aramaic will be discussed, including lectures presenting data and details of previously undocumented Neo-Aramaic dialects, both Jewish, Christian, and Mandaean, as well as talks focusing on diverse aspects of phonology, morphology, syntax, lexicon and etymology, neologisms, language contact and borrowing, literary vs. spoken language, poetry vs. prose, and translation technique.
