The String Field Theory and Related Aspects conference will be the fifth annual conference in a series of international string field theory conferences.

A string field theory is any theory that attempts to define and model string theory as a field theory of string modes. In this approach each one of the infinitely many particles describing the vibrations of the quantum string is represented by a field, in a way that is analogous to the description of photons, the quanta of light, by the electro-magnetic field. These infinitely many fields are packed together into a single object called the string field. The formulation of the dynamics of the string field and the study of the resulting symmetries and predictions are the main research objectives of the string field theory community. The conference is dedicated to topics related to string theory, and to the current problems and challenges of string field theory.
