The Israel Institute for Advanced Studies is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2024 Michael Bruno Memorial Award, recognizing exceptional young Israeli scholars who exemplify academic excellence and leadership with the potential to shape the future of research in Israel.
This year’s laureates are:
- Itay Halevy, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science
- Itzhak Mizrahi, Department of Life Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
- Maya Schuldiner, Department of Molecular Genetics, Weizmann Institute of Science
The Michael Bruno Memorial Award, established in 1999 in memory of Professor Michael Bruno, celebrates scholars who demonstrate both innovative research and a willingness to explore new academic frontiers. Professor Bruno, former Governor of the Bank of Israel and recipient of the Israel Prize for Economics, left an enduring mark on Israeli academia and public service.
