The Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS) warmly congratulates our Academic Director, Yitzhak Hen, on his election as a Fellow of Academia Europaea.

Founded in 1988, Academia Europaea is a prestigious pan-European academy dedicated to the advancement of excellence in scholarship across the humanities, sciences, and law. With over 5,500 members—including 88 Nobel laureates—the Academy recognizes leading experts who have demonstrated exceptional eminence in their respective fields.

Membership is extended by invitation only following a rigorous peer-nomination and scrutiny process. Prof. Hen’s election to this distinguished international network is a significant recognition of his career-long contributions to medieval studies.
