Yair Weiss is a professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received his PhD in Computational Neuroscience from MIT in 1998, and held positions at MIT and UC Berkeley before joining the faculty of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests are: human and machine vision: perceptual organization, motion analysis, propagation of local constraints; machine learning and inference: graphical models, probability propagation, errorcorrecting codes; and computational biology: side chain prediction and protein design.

Prof. Weiss has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Longuet-Higgins Best Paper Award (2006) and the Alon Fellowship (2001-2004).
