Noam Nisan is a professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received his PhD from UC Berkeley in 1988, and held positions at UC Berkeley and MIT before joining the faculty of The Hebrew University in 1990. His research is focused on computational complexity theory and algorithmic game theory.

Prof. Nisan is the author of Using Hard Problems to Create Pseudorandom Generators (MIT Press, ACM Distinguished Dissertation Series, 1992), and he has received numerous honours, including the Bergman Memorial research grant (1993), “Amoota Lehinuch Technology” Prize (1990), and the Alon Fellowship (1990).
