Alma Shneor is an Israeli visual and performance artist born in Tel Aviv in 1978.
Active in the fields of visual arts and performance, Schneor's multidisciplinary work spans various media, including video, photography, sculpture, sound, and drawing. Her work often focuses on experimental processes that explore the boundaries of visual representation. She addresses themes such as the relationship between matter and spirit, the visible and the invisible, and the transitions between light and darkness. Schneor employs experimental techniques in photography, video, and sculpture to provoke questions about time, space, movement, and light. She received the Young Artist Award from Israel's Ministry of Culture in 2009 and the Artist-in-Community Grant from the Ministry of Culture in 2014. Her works are part of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art collection, the Knesset Collection in Jerusalem, and private collections in Israel and abroad. Schneor has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Israel and internationally. She is also involved in large-scale public art projects, with a public sculpture currently being installed on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv, commissioned by the Tel Aviv Municipality.
Ms. Alma Shneor was Selected for the artist program at the Israel Institute for 2024-2025.
