Irad is a professor in the Department of History at Tel Aviv University. His research interests are: Greek history, Archaic and Classical; religion and society; Mediterranean studies; ethnicity; Greek colonization and city states; the historical role of myth and cult; Homer and the Odyssey; network theory and historical processes.
