Adiel Schremer is a professor in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at Bar-Ilan University. He received his PhD in 1996 from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and has held positions at the Shalom Hartman Institute and Yale University alongside his role at Bar-Ilan University. His research interests are: Jewish history of the Second Temple, Mishnah and Talmud periods; Second Temple Judaism; Rabbinic Judaism; Rabbinic Literature; and History of Halakha.
Prof. Schremer has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Ish-Shalom Prize (2004), the Rozen-Zvi Prize (2001) and the Urbach Prize (1999).
