Ernst Knauf is a professor in the Faculty of Theology at Bern University. His research interests are: the 'Former Prophets' as Nevi'im; Arabia and the Bible from the beginnings to the origins of Islam; a social scientific approach to the history of Israel; history of the Hebrew language in its Central Semitic context.
