Gil is a professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests are: the structure and mechanism of catalysts of proteases; interaction of anticancer drugs with proteins; molecular basis for protein crystallization in microgravity; high resolution crystal structure of enzymes and its relevance to their biological activity.
