Born in 1975 in Los Angeles, Roman is an artist and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Art at Beit Berl College. His work explores various aspects of the relationship between political order and visual order, focusing on large-scale charcoal drawings and participatory public art installations. His works are featured in institutions such as the Israel Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Haaretz newspaper headquarters, the Discount Bank Collection, and more. Roman has received numerous awards and grants, including the Creation Encouragement Award, the Young Artist Award, and a grant from the Pais Council for Culture and Arts. He has exhibited extensively in Israel and internationally in leading galleries and museums, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, the Haifa Museum of Art, the Petach Tikva Museum of Art, the Bat Yam Museum, and in galleries such as Dvir, Sommer, and Hezi Cohen.
Mr. Roman Hillel was Selected for the artist program at the Israel Institute for 2024-2025.
