Ilan Marek is a professor in the Faculty of Chemistry at the Technion. He earned his PhD from Pierre et Marie Curie University in 1988, and after being a postdoctoral fellow at CNRS, he joined the Technion faculty in 1997. His research group is primarily concerned with the design and development of new and efficient stereo- and enantioselective strategies that do not have precedence in classical organic chemistry for the synthesis of important complex molecular structures.
Prof. Marek has received numerous awards and honours, including the Klein Award (2000), the Yosefa and Leonid Allschwang Award (2000), and the Yigal Alon Fellowship (1998).
