Jack Copeland is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Canterbury and Director of the Turing Archive for the History of Computing. His research interests encompass philosophy and foundations of computing, mathematical logic, cognitive science and philosophy of mind, the foundations of artificial intelligence, the history of engineering and technology, and the history of cryptography. He is considered to be the outstanding international authority on Alan Turing's work on computation.
