Josef Stern is William H. Colvin Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago and was the Inaugural Director of the Chicago Center for Jewish Studies (2009-14). His research focuses on the contemporary philosophy of language and medieval philosophy, especially Jewish and Arabic philosophy.
