Leonid Polterovich is a professor of Mathematics at Tel Aviv University. He received his undergraduate degree from Moscow State University in 1984, and his PhD from Tel Aviv University in 1990. His area of research is symplectic geometry and dynamical systems, and he has received numerous awards, including the EMS Prize (1996) and the the Erdős Prize (1998).
