Moshe Halbertal is a professor in the Department of Jewish Thought at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He received his PhD from The Hebrew University in 1989, and was a fellow at the Society of Fellows at Harvard University before joining The Hebrew University faculty in 1992.

His publications include: Idolatry, co-authored with Avishai Margalit, translated by Naomi Goldblum (Harvard University Press, 1992); Interpretative Revolutions in the Making (Hebrew) (Magnes Press, 1997); and People of the Book: Canon, Meaning and Authority (Harvard University Press, 1997).
