Guy is a professor in the Department of Comparative Religion at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests are: early Christianity and dualist trends (Gnosticism, Manichaeism) in Late Antiquity; religious transformations; anthropology in ancient religions; the birth of the modern study of religion.
